Scam Reports Other Active 47 views View on BitcoinTalk
Be careful, everyone: there’s a scam site called instantswaps[.]com. So far, I’ve seen two users fall victim to this scam. I wanted to make a public announcement to warn others against using it. I’ve reported the domain, and I’d be grateful if the community could report it as well.

Thanks for sharing, i wonder how people find these scam websites and trust them to facilitate their swaps, when there are better platforms out there, with security deposits that can cover losses of a "large" amount. I cannot find any scam accusation on this platform in the forum, so i believe these cases were off the forum, right, how much was involved in both cases?

It is just sad that a lot of people have to get scammed first, before they learn a valuable lesson about scammers in the crypto network.

Hi, welcome. It was an off-site scam. Not large amount. I was personally monitoring it, and it was listed in a scam directory that posted phishing links. It was like similar case to the scam associated with anir0y-scams.info. I wanted to share this here as well to warn the community. If you encounter this site, please avoid it and report it.

This are for those who mostly love using swap, that is Decentralized exchange rather than central exchange, of course many people wouldn't want to go through centralized exchange due to privacy issues and they wouldn't want to pass through their verification process so they could decide to use the Decentralized exchange.

However, thank you for sharing and I wouldn't mind also sharing across our community to warned against this incident of scamming people.

This site is clearly designed to scam people; I was able to enter an incorrect destination address.
Judging by the site's structure and some of its content, it looks like the scammers are trying to clone xchange.me, they are even using a similar logo.

Aside from the logo, the difference in the website's overall design is way too obvious to ignore. The fake site looks cheaply made and seems like it was put together with barely any effort, which makes the scam attempt even more obvious. Lmao.

Definitely its something should be avoided.

Automatic swap services cannot be called decentralized exchanges, they still have a lot of elements of centralized services. And many of them, even those that claim to be NO-KYC, can still block customer withdrawals and ask for KYC, so with them you could still end up passing KYC verification.

That is why people are advised to research very well before picking an instant exchange, because a lot of them are scam platforms or data farms, or both.

Although the two domains are not similar, they may be part of phishing links to https://instaswap.com/ The similarity between the two domain names is great. In general, given social media, this account must be managed as part of a larger network.

True, there is a great similarity

Thanks for your work again Trevoid, I've also contributed in reporting the domain and it's already sent. I hope that it will be taken down the soonest.

I think that many of us have been using instaswap exchanges and we've got a lot of it in the forum. For those who have no idea, we've got a lot of it on the Exchanges. Those which are new and the ones that are reputable.

It might be a good idea to report the phishing domains to a phishing link database that was created/is owned by MetaMask. Once the link is flagged, even browsers like firefox, opera and chrome use the database and will put out a malicicious website warning as soon as some one tries to visit the link.

That's exactly right. This is definitely a good security measure. I just opened the domain link myself, and the warning message is already showing. This means that someone has already reported it to them, and they responded based on the evidence pointing to this swap's scam behavior.

It may also be a good idea to report the domain to the registrar and the hosting provider. If the website goes down, that would be better than just having a warning message, although this may also make them move to another domain.

That's right, and this is because scammers may create a fake exchange on more than one domain and promote it.

New platforms should always be treated with caution and with amounts you can afford to lose, especially if there is no evidence of their legitimacy.
