Welcome to bitcointalk, BaltEX.io!
I just visited your website, and I must say the design looks great. The swap process is straightforward: you simply choose the coin to send and the coin to receive, then on the next page, you enter the amount to send and the recipient's address and you're done.

However, I noticed an issue with the exchange rates. For example, when exchanging BTC to ETH, the exchange rate displayed is ~42. But if you change the coin to be received, the exchange rate either remains the same or takes too long to update. Additionally, I sometimes encountered a "Something went wrong!" error message.

AML Compliance: Ensure your funds are clean and compliant before swapping.

I'm interested to know how you specifically implement this. What's your bases, whose data, or which tool will you be using in analyzing and making assessments whether certain funds are clean or dirty?

And what happens when funds are sent and were found out to be unclean? Will they be rejected at the onset or will they be locked pending KYC and other verification process from the user?

Thanks for your feedback! We appreciate you checking out BaltEX.io and sharing your thoughts.

Regarding the exchange rate update issue, our system dynamically fetches rates in real time, but occasional delays may occur due to network conditions or temporary API rate limits. We’ve tested the BTC → ETH swap on our end and couldn’t replicate the error, but we’ll continue monitoring to ensure everything runs smoothly.

As for the "Something went wrong!" message, it might have been a temporary glitch. If you encounter it again, feel free to reach out with details (e.g., the swap pair and approximate time), and our team will investigate.

We're currently developing our pre-swap AML checking feature. While we can’t share full details yet, the goal is to allow users to check their addresses before sending funds, providing a preliminary assessment of whether a transaction might trigger additional verification. This ensures more transparency and control over swaps. We'll share more details as soon as we're able to.

If funds are flagged, the next steps will depend on the case. Some transactions may be paused for further review, and in certain situations, KYC verification may be required before proceeding. That said, we prioritize user privacy and aim to minimize such cases, which is why we're implementing this feature in the first place.

You're right that live chat isn’t always visible on the site — currently, it's available from morning until late evening European time. However, our support ticket system is monitored 24/7, so users can always reach out and get a response quickly.

I hope such feature will be integrated soon considering that your exchange is already in operation. There might be funds or transactions that need that very feature any moment from now.

If you're truly prioritizing user privacy, are you not considering rejecting transactions involving funds you consider unclean altogether rather than pausing it and requesting KYC? If privacy is the top priority, isn't returning unclean funds right away the perfect solution?

Thank you for raising this point. Despite our strong focus on user privacy, it’s important to recognize that this is a legally complex matter with many nuances. Our main goal is to strike the right balance between protecting user privacy and meeting AML requirements to keep the industry safe. At the same time, we’re committed to making compliance as straightforward as possible for our users — ensuring that no one feels ignored or has their funds withheld without good reason.

We’ve put together a team of professionals from various world-renowned services, and we’re well aware of how these processes can sometimes be mishandled elsewhere.

And what happens if a user passes KYC? Does that guarantee the further swap process, or can you keep the user's funds even after that?
Also, what do you do with funds that freeze? Did you report it to any competent authorities, and which ones? If not, why don't you report it?

Hey there! Appreciate the engagement – and no surprise that KYC is a hot topic.

Just to clarify, KYC isn’t just about submitting documents. Each case depends on the initial reason for flagging the transaction. If a user completes procedure, we can’t guarantee the swap will proceed, but in such cases, the transaction is always returned. Our focus is on keeping the process transparent and straightforward.

As for frozen funds, they remain at the same address or, in rare cases, may be moved to a cold wallet for safekeeping. Everything stays fully trackable on the blockchain — no scenarios where “frozen” funds mysteriously go back into circulation.

Not every flagged transaction automatically requires a report. It all depends on the specific circumstances, the nature of the case, and the information available at the time. Our approach is to handle each situation responsibly — especially when it comes to our users — yet we can’t disregard the compliance aspect in certain cases

It seems this was indeed a temporary glitch, as I just checked and the error message (‘Something went wrong’) no longer appears.

For what it’s worth, the error message used to show up every time I clicked on a link and opened a new tab, but it would disappear after a few seconds.

While checking, I noticed another issue when trying to swap USDT for any other coin. I couldn’t enter a value greater than 10 USDT. If I do, it would automatically change to 8.399067, which seems to be the minimum amount you can send.

Hi BaltEX I’m just curious though when funds are returned after a failed KYC or flagged transaction is that process automated or does it require manual review? Also will users get any kind of report or breakdown explaining why their transaction was flagged in the first place before taking any action? I think transparency on that front would build more trust.

Appreciate you pointing that out — that issue with the USDT limit resetting to ~8.39 is actually a bug. Our tech team has already tracked it down, so a fix should roll out pretty soon. Sorry about the confusion! Thanks again for flagging.

Hey! Good question, and totally get why transparency matters here.

Funds returned after a failed KYC or flagged transaction always go through manual review — that way we keep things secure. Right now, we don’t send out automatic breakdowns (due to compliance & some privacy reasons), but users are always welcome to reach out for more clarity on their specific case, and we'll share whatever details we can.

Welcome to the forum.

It seems BaltEX is kind of popular. They have a good number of subscribers on their Telegram channel and some followers on X. Usually, instant exchanges do not get large numbers of followers unless they have been operating their business for a long time. It's good to see that you guys decided to expand your business on the Bitcointalk forum.

As I can see, you guys listed four social media accounts on your homepage; I guess now you can link to the official thread of Bitcointalk as well, like other exchanges. Also, posting a good graphical announcement thread will help you to get more exposure.

Pairing BTC to USDT APT chain (Aptos), Plasma, ALGO, Scroll is not available, is it because there is no likudity from cross chain or other providers?
If this is not available why the chain is paired if it can not? Maybe there is a definite answer from the OP?

A very big welcome to the forum. When we see a serious service, at a glance we'll know. Not all these generic AI exchanges springing up lately.

Clean Ann thread;
Bought the copper membership;
Already listed in directories

I see you are listed on BitList, working closer with icopress will give you a good promotion here.

✅ AML Compliance: Ensure your funds are clean and compliant before swapping.
Some people already asked questions about this and you explained very well, but I have a reservation. Let's see how it goes, but it seems this wording will need a bit rephrasing so that it wouldn't pass the wrong message for a private crypto exchange.

🔑 Private Swaps: your swaps will remain confidential with us (we're developing proxy protection for deposit and payout addresses).
I guess this privacy is achieved by first routing a transaction to monero before sending to the customer's desired coin/token. Is there any other mechanism for achieving this?

Did you use the same link to the telegram channel mentioned in OP? I can't find the official channel through that link. But I found a channel through https://t.me/baltexio OP would you please confirm it is the official channel and update OP with the correct link. Same with Discord server, the link in OP isn't the right one.

OP Baltex, congratulations for lunching the signature campaign managed by icopress. I am pretty sure that this professional managerial service will help boost baltex exchange to better visibility. You have been already so responsive to community interactions, just update the op with social media links.
